"Aydar" Yurt Camp"Aydar” Yurt Camp is located 7 km from the western shore of Aydarkul lake, near the lost in the sands village which is in the heart of the Kyzyl Kum desert and 60 km from a small center district, called Nurata. The camp was organized by Alexander Syrymov, the "pioneer" of Camel safari which is considered to be relatively new type of tourism in Uzbekistan. A 15 years of experience in this area allowed him to consider thoroughly all the features of the organization of autonomous service in the desert and at the same time to take into account all the wishes of tourists and experts.

Without any exaggerations one can say that today this is the largest and most comfortable yurt camp in Uzbekistan.

8 public festive yurts (if necessary 6 more ones can be installed) are permanently fixed in the camp. Every yurt is richly decorated with hand-made carpets made by local craftsmen. Colored woven patterns and even chandeliers create an unusually festive atmosphere in the tent. Actually, yurt which is suspected to be the traditional home of Central Asia’s nomads has the history of more than three thousand years. The construction was changing all the time to be improved and at last has reached perfection. Yurt can be assembled or disassembled during an hour time by only one family and can easily be carried on with 2 camels or horses. It is very warm inside of it in winter and cool enough in summer. Yurt is environmentally friendly, as it is made from simple natural materials: wood, poles and felt, rolled up of fleece.

Yurt camp is also equipped with fixed toilets with sanitary engineering, shower, saloon yurt, where lunches and dinners used to take place at. There is electricity in the camp. Evenings tourists can spend around the bonfire listening to akin (singer of national songs), in an extremely quiet and peaceful atmosphere, enjoying an incredibly large stars and the clearly seen Milky Way.

In the daytime tourists walking around the camp, refuting stereotypes about lifeless desert. In the camp neighborhood there are to 25 species"Aydar" Yurt Camp of plants and animal world is also pretty varied: turtles, lizards, pigeons, desert partridges and hares. You can often see the giant varans, and, of course, camels. The camels are domesticated here and trained for riding. Camels are mostly- two-humped, called Bactrian. They are common to see in Central Asia, China and Mongolia. While their next of kin named dromedaries are usual in Asia Minor, Africa and in the deserts of Australia.

Yurt camp is the starting place for exciting and educational tours in the region.

Tourists can take a 1-2-hour trip by camel to the unique Aydarkul lake, which stretches for 250 km in the desert, eat here just caught fish for lunch, relax, swim in this lake’s warm, slightly salty waters and sunbathe on the beautiful beach.

There are unique lakes not so far from the camp, where local inhabitants still manually obtain salt

A visit to the village lost in the sands, where locals preserved the ancient traditions and the way of life till nowadays, will impress travelers much.

On the back way to the yurt camp, you can visit the “rock art gallery" of ancient people in Sarmysh tract. There were found more than 3 thousand drawings here on the black basalt rocks, called petroglyphs which depict animals, people, hunting scenes, everyday life and even sex.

In a small town on the border with Nuratau Mountains and desert, the tourists will be interested in visiting a place of pilgrimage for the "holy" source called "Chashma" where over a thousand "sacred" fish swim. Here you can also see the irrigation system named kyarizs which still deliver groundwater from Nuratau ridge to the valley

Each year yurt camp becomes more and more popular, attracting here not only tourists from around the world who come to see the world-famous monuments of Uzbekistan. But also officers of Embassies and international organizations, joint ventures and their guests are happy to come here to relax and spend a weekend far away from civilization. Many of tourists bring here their children, who personally are able to discover another amazing unknown world.
