Requirements – Horse back riding, like any other hobby, has its own rules of etiquette which should be followed in order to fit in well and have an enjoyable and safe experience. For this program the athletic ability of the rider must be at a distance of 20-30 km or more away in a day. Equestrian guide has the right to change the route depending on your knowledge to stay on the horse to prevent from any unforeseen hazards.

Itinerary: Bishkek – Chichkan gorge – Sary Chelek Lake – Osh Fergana BukharaSamarkand - Tashkent

Tour description:From the turquoise lake of Sary Chelek to the sky-blue domes of Samarkand (Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan). This itinerary through the south-western Kyrgyzstan and historic cities on the Silk Road through Uzbekistan, lets you admire one of the jewels of mountain lakes - Sary Chelek Lake, with its cleanest and turquoise color waters, the legendary cities like Samarkand and Bukhara its sky blue domes. The participants of this trip will have an opportunity to be in closer contact with the virgin nature, of nature reserve of Sary Chelek. You can learn from its rich stories and legends about the most interesting realms of another time and castle ruins of Central Asia. You have a great opportunity to meet with friendly people and will do your knowledge of their customs and traditions. All this will help you spend your holidays good and healthy.

Tour program:

Day 1. Bishkek – Chichkan gorge. Arrival in Bishkek. Getting the Kyrgyz visa at airport. Meeting and transfer to valley of Chichkan gorge. Accommodation in the yurt camp. Overnight

Day 2. Chichkan gorge – Kara Suu village. Transfer to Kara Suu village. Accommodation at local home stay followed by a briefing and choosing horses then discovery by horses around the village. Overnight.

Day 3. Kara Suu village – summer pasturage. Breakfast, setting off northwards to Kara-Suu Gorge, crossing the river by wooden bridges. The gorge becomes rather narrow and the slopes are covered with a beautiful silver fir forest. Further on the track passes below a waterfall and then climbs over a pass to Kara-Suu Lake (1,800 m). Have lunch and then relax and experience the way of life on the jailoo (mountain pasture). Overnight in tents. (4 hours horse riding).

Day 4. Horse riding to the Sary-Chelek Lake. Breakfast, then riding to the Sary Chelek – it means "yellow cup" or rather "golden bucket". It is situated at 1873 m above sea level, in a unique biosphere reserve Sary Chelek. Our route goes through alpine meadows with high endemic plants to Makmal Pass (2700 m). From the pass we will have a spectacular panorama of snow-covered peaks of Chatkal mountains range and at the bottom of the lake Sary Chelek with turquoise waters. A zigzag path leads us to the valley of Koji Ata river, which flows into the lake Sary Chelek. The camp will be near the shore of the lake (6 hours riding).

Day 5. Sary-Chelek Lake – Ashu Pass (2600 m). Breakfast. Continue of our horse riding to the Ashu Pass, from here we will have a view to the Tian Shan mountains and to the Lake Sary Chelek with clean water and a turquoise color. Descent on the other side of the lake. Camp. (5-6 hrs) through Irikol Lake and the nut forests. From the pass we will have a beautiful view to Sary Chelek Lake. Descent to the village. Accommodation at local home stay. Dinner. Overnight. (5-6 hours riding).

Day 6. Sary – Chelek – Iry kol Lake - Kyzil Kol village. On this day we pass through the lake Iry kol, with a discovery riding around the lake and through the walnut forests will rising on the pass. From the pass we will have a beautiful view of Lake Sary Chelek. Descend to the village. Accommodation in a local family. Dinner and overnight. (5-6 hours).

Day 7. Kyzil Kol village – Osh city. Transfer to Osh city. Arrival and accommodation at hotel. Overnight.

Day 8. Osh Fergana valley . Early breakfast at hotel and shokrt sightseeing of city. Transfer to the Kyrgyz/Uzbek border “Dustlik”. Border and custom formalities. Meeting at noon with Uzbek guide and driver. Transfer to Fergana city (100 km). lunch on the way in “Bogi Shamol”. Sightseeing program of city and surrounding. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9. Fergana Tashkent. Transfer to Tashkent (300 km) via Kamchik Pass (2110 m). En route visit of Khudayar Khan palace in Kokand. Arrival to Tachkent and accommodation at hotel. Overnight.

Day 10. TashkentBukhara. Discovery of the capital of Uzbekistan. Evening train to Bukhara.

Day 11. Bukhara. Early arrival and accommodation at hotel. Sightseeing in Bukhara: Visit Samanids Mausoleum ( IX – XII cc. ), Chashma Ayub Mausoleum (Job's well. XII-XVI cc.), Bolo Khauz mosque, Ark – ancient fortress (VI-VII cc.). Lunch. After lunch continue of sightseeing program of old part of Bukhara. Lyabi-Hauz complex (XVI-XVII cc.), Magoki Attori mosque and Commercial domes of XVI century and Poi-Kalan complex (XII-XVI cc.). Overnight.

Day 12. BukharaSamarkand. 8:15 AM Morning train to Samarkand. Arrival at 11:20 AM and accommodation at hotel. Sightseeing program in Samarkand: Visit to the heart of SamarkandRegistan Complex (XIV-XVI c.) with its 3 famous Madrassah: Sherdor, Ulugbek and Tilla-Kori. Visit to Guri-Emir Mausoleum (place where a great king Tamerlan is buried), Rukhabad necropolis (XV c.). Visit to Bibi-Khanum cathedral mosque (XV c.) and oriental Bazaar of Samarkand. Overnight.

Day 13. Samarkand. Continue of discovery of Samarkand. Visit to the Ensemble of Shakhi-Zinda Mausoleums and Afrosiab Museum. After lunch free time in Samarkand. Train to Tashkent at 5:00 PM. Arriving at 8:42 PM. Meeting at the railway station and accommodation at hotel. Overnight.

Day 14. Tashkent – departure. Transfer to the airport and departure from Tashkent.

Who wants to travel far from home, leave for several days on horseback ... is a real trip. You should know everything you need and take anything that is necessary in order not to fatigue your companion!

There are certain rules of horse riding which you should follow:

  • Comfort for the horse and rider.
  • Bags and fonts should not rest directly on the horse or make an angle or point of friction. Neither form nor their position not interfering with rider in his movements or his comfort.
  • The belts that must be foolproof, especially for bags, which often bear the brunt. Be very picky about the strength of fasteners.
  • Tightness and fundamental. It must be maintained regardless of the subject.
  • Riders must always follow the advice of the equestrian guide and riding in the same direction as him,
  • Necessary to mount the horse on the right side of horse,
  • All riders in the group must follow one after the other,
  • Announce your intentions to other riders in the group,
  • Orders should be given quietly and not interfere with other riders,
  • Always follow the rules say your guide,
  • Keeping a horse length between you and the rider closest to not trample other riders,
  • Do not smoke while riding,
  • Keep your horse under control at all times,
  • Stay aware of your surroundings and everything going on around you,
  • If you do something that creates loud noises to be that everyone is aware so as not to frighten another horse,

  • In case of emergency be sure you know where the nearest telephone, emergency numbers and first aid kit
